Ingeteam, together with electrical integrator Wärtsilä, have delivered and commissioned the first INGEDRIVE MV900 transformerless drives on a new generation of modern 16,000 TEU container ships, marking an important step in the adoption of direct 6.6 kV medium-voltage solutions at sea

This ongoing large-scale deployment is being carried out in close collaboration with Wärtsilä, the system integrator responsible for embedding the MV900 into each vessel’s electrical architecture, supporting the introduction of this technology under real operational conditions.

The first vessel (now in operation), is equipped with an INGEDRIVE MV900 unit, fully integrated, tested, and performing as expected. A second vessel is currently undergoing sea trials, and production continues at a steady pace, with a new vessel scheduled for delivery each month.
